ELISE VIDAL

Hello! I’m a French Canadian from Quebec who originally traveled to Alberta for the military. After my service, I chose to pursue a longtime dream and transition into Architectural Animation. Now a recent graduate of the Architectural Animation Technology program at Lethbridge Polytechnic, I’ve built a strong foundation in crafting functional and personalized designs that truly resonate.

Although my journey has been primarily academic so far, I’m driven to explore exciting opportunities that challenge creative boundaries and allow me to grow as a professional. I look forward to collaborating on innovative projects that shape the future of design. Let’s bring visions to life together!

DESIGN PHILOSOPHY

Technology is the future

Architecture has always been a fusion of creativity, functionality, and technology. As technology evolves, so must designers. This evolution is not only natural but essential—it is the pathway to innovation and transformation. By blending human emotions, knowledge, and creativity with technological advancements, we can create structures that are contemporary, environmentally responsive, and long-lasting. The integration of technology into architecture also provides tools that open new possibilities for sustainability, adaptability, and interdisciplinary collaboration. I believe that as technology continues to shape our industry, embracing it will enable me to become a more effective and innovative designer. My goal is to use technology to enhance the human experience, bringing greater ease, functionality, and simplicity to the spaces people inhabit. To achieve this, I firmly believe we must fully embrace the advancements in architectural technology and adapt our designs accordingly, creating environments that are both meaningful and prepared for the future.

Personalized Design

No two individuals are the same. Therefore, everyone’s vision and ideas for the spaces they inhabit will differ. As designers, it is our responsibility to bring these unique visions to life by creating designs that cater to each person’s identity and needs. From lifestyle to taste and personal story, we have the power to craft environments that celebrate individuality rather than conform to a uniform, one-size-fits-all approach. Bruce Mau, a Canadian designer, once said, “We have allowed two of our sensory domains—sight and sound—to dominate our design imagination. In fact, when it comes to the culture of architecture and design, we create and produce almost exclusively for one sense—the visual.” While the visual aspect of design is undeniably important, creating spaces that resonate deeply with people’s personalities and identities is equally important. Architecture should be as unique as the individuals it serves, reflecting their tastes, intricacies, and aspirations. By blending personal expression with professional expertise, we can design spaces that are not only visually striking but also profoundly meaningful and tailored to those who experience them.
