Fear of the Asylum

The culmination of my college program was a project that challenged me to design a structure inspired by a single emotion. To push myself beyond my comfort zone, I chose fear. This asylum is an exploration of psychological tension, incorporating a multitude of phobias and immersive environmental storytelling to heighten the unsettling atmosphere.

Through architectural form, materiality, and lighting, the design enhances the emotion of fear, guiding visitors through a space that evokes unease and suspense. This project serves as both a technical and conceptual study in how architecture can provoke deep emotional responses.

This was created using the following software: Revit, SketchUp, Twinmotion & Premiere Pro
